Reunions are a great time to reconnect with friends. Some you’ve not seen for decades and others you’ve been able to get together with throughout the years. It’s been decades since I graduated from High School. Although I only graduated from one school, I was invited to reunions from schools that I attended in grade school and Jr. High as well! I’m lucky that they remember me and include me in their celebrations.

Family is the best gift you can receive. I was blessed to be able to spend many hours with family (and friends) during the summer of 2014. They are a great help in the transition of coming home to the U.S.A. after being gone for a year to a different country. Culture shock is a *real thing* and it was almost as hard coming back to the States than leaving. I am so greatful for my friends, family and the great memories they have given me.

While in Houston, I was able to attend my first ever Crawfish party! Large pots filled with seasonings, garlic, potatos, corn, sausage, onions and, of course, freshly rinsed crawfish boiled over an outdoor cooking area. Once everything is cooked (including the chef's, who consumed large amounts of beer while putting a fine meal together), everything is dumped onto newspaper and into massive 10 - 12 inch bowls for the hearty eaters.
